Hi friends and fam, Today I’d like to apologize for not getting to chat with you on last week—got a little busy there, but here we are! Okay, I told you about how much fun the four friends in Book I of The Cohort Trilogy have together. Yet what I didn’t tell you about was the drama. Man, is there disturbance in Absolution! It shakes all the characters up, but isn’t that what happens in real life? And you know I believe art should mirror life. So we have these four friends / four cohorts going merrily along, getting their party on, enjoying life and bam! They get blind-sided by not one but a few incidents… Hey—I’m going to do something. I’d like to treat you to a portion of a review written by Sharon Martin of the United Kingdom’s BeckValley Books. In it she says …one friend crosses the line of friendship; the whole group falls to pieces and you almost feel annoyed with them for making it happen. To me, Sharon has perfectly summed up what happens. Like her, I too believe that you the reader will feel a bit funky at a point. Why? –Because as you read Absolution the cohorts will become your ‘friends in anovel.’ Therefore, when things get screwy, you won’t like it. Heck, as the writer, I didn’t like it either, but I go where the story takes me. You see, some people write using a formula. I know this because I have actually been to classes where they teach people to do that. However, the formula thing wasn’t for me. I find that I simply have to allow the story to flow…but that means I never really know where the story is going until I get there. That is how you will feel on this ride. While reading Absolution you may even wonder, how the heck did we windup ‘here?’ But you know what? It’s all good. When you come through everything that happens, you will feel strangely placated, sweetly satisfied. That I promise you. Pick up this book and you will see! Well, you know it’s time. I’ve got to get to work on a different novel that is slated for release later this year. Thus I will see you soon! Be blessed, April |
