I just saw an interview with Gabourey Sidibe who starred in the movie ‘Precious.’ In this interview she told of how an actress who is older than she is, an actress that she looked up to, advised her to get out of show business. Why? Because the actress, Joan Cusack to be exact, said the biz is image-conscious. What does that mean? Does that mean that the heavier person is not an image that we should see? I hate to pull the race card, but I wonder. Could Joan have meant...the darker person is not an image to be seen? |

Hi friends and fam, Today I must address something. Two times now I’ve heard it. I know that’s not a lot, but twice people have said they felt that a book of mine began slowly. Granted, those opinions were from the young. Granted, they may not yet understand that thedestinationis important. You know, where the story ends. However, thejourney, getting to the destination is crucial too. That said; I want to explain something. When a reader chooses me—one of my books, I feel as though that person has made an alliance, entered a non-verbal contract with me. |

Someone is always asking about my Cohort Trilogy, so I figured I’d tell you a bit about it each week. First of all, the three books in the trilogy are calledAbsolution,Progression, andIniquities. However, let’s speak aboutAbsolution,Book 1for now. In it a reader gets to meet four friends, three women and their gay male roommate Beau [Bo.] Beau and the ladies call themselves cohorts because often they find themselves in untoward situations, together --many of which you the reader will get to see firsthand or hear about through their telling. |

I want to quickly tell you about a book I happened to read. Actually, I took the last two days off from writing so I could immerse myself in it. The book is called 'I See Your Dream Job,' by Sue Frederick, and boy is it powerful! Yes, I love self-help books and lots of things that seem 'new age' to some people. Anyway, about the book; Sue the author is an intuitive, someone who instinctively knows, after interacting with a person what they would be best and happiest doing in their career. Don't get me wrong, I did not |

Hi readers, friends and fam, I just wanted to let you know how excited I am to be able to finally offer youIniquities! It'sBook IIIin myCohort Trilogy, and believe me, just like you loved the first two, you're going to feel that way about this one. I don't mean to sound cocky. You all know that's not my way. I'm just saying... I gave this book all I had. I had help too. That I'm happy to report. My gay male friends were more than willing to give me their input. You know, to make the story real. |

Hello friends and fam, I wanted to let you know that Jessica Janna, my mom's books Seedling and Sowing are now available on Amazon Kindle! She's quite excited about it because to her this format is new -- it's electronic! Mom also admitted that like some of you she likes books to hold in her hands. So now you can make your choice. With Kindle both Seedling and Sowing are available for a ridiculously low price. So...maybe you might want to think about giving them as gifts this holiday season. |
